I'm not the best when it comes to decorating cakes so this is entirely Phil's work, following my directions of course. I wanted to keep it simple but still make Riley an awesome cake and it was just perfect, better than I'd imagined and anyone who knows Riley will know that it was perfect for him. He LOVES cars and racing cars are even better.

My about-to-be 3 year old just saw this and told me he didn't want his teddy cake anymore he wanted this one!! He'll still be getting the teddy because I've ordered the tin BUT - totally storing this one up for next year. He loves cars and teddies! Fantastic supervising and creative vision. Love it
It loks fab! My 5 year old daughter thinks it looks great too!
My boys would have loved a cake like this...... cakes are definately not my strong point :)
Brilliant job! Well done to you both!
Looks great, my son now wants one but with motorbikes instead of cars. His birthday is in a few weeks so thanks for the inspiration!
so cool! I remember a similar one in my mum's old women's weekly cake book - man I loved that book! Hope Riley had a great day!
Super cool! I know what you mean about cake decorating... I have the ideas, but it is often the hubby that puts them into action. :)
Love! Love! Love! the fence around the cake is such a nice touch!!
fun!! hope he loved it :)
we just had our littlest's 4 yr old birthday on the weekend!
I know I'm 3 years behind, but this is great! May I ask how you did the track? Is it crushed chocolate biscuits? Did you follow a recipe?
Thank you :-)
Can someone tell me what to make the dirt out of? Wouldn't oreos be too dark?
I used Oreos. They are dark but then tarmac is.
My 15 year old is getting his learner's permit and wants a car cake. I showed this one to him and he loved it! What candy did you use on the edges of the cake?
